I am an excellent homemaker, with a wide variety o I am an excellent homemaker, with a wide variety of domestic skills. While they are not all enjoyable and do not form the basis of my self-worth I do feel pride in the skills I have acquired over the past 34 years.
Baking bread (an activity I find relaxing and nourishing) 5 stars
Making candles (a lot of work and messy) 2 stars
Knitting and crocheting (approachable, easy to store) 4 stars

Happy 34th to me! PC: my 10 year old daughter tryi Happy 34th to me! PC: my 10 year old daughter trying to be creative. She also gave me styling tips on my outfit. 
The 8 year old made coffee, the kids made breakfast and generally were sweet this morning. Later there will be cake.

The issue with the evangelical cult of domesticity The issue with the evangelical cult of domesticity is not whether women know how to cook or clean. It’s not about having a bountiful garden or a decked-out craft room. The issue is relegating those skills as gender specific. It’s about who you are including and excluding, specifically from the kingdom of God based on the type of work you do. If you are using the domestic arts to exclude entire groups of people from living in the fullness of God’s love then it is not the highest calling or even remotely biblical.
