At breakfast time to try to manage the unruly head At breakfast time to try to manage the unruly heads of hair. 
The toddler with curls that tangle and the tween who has a basketball game.
The boys vacillating between shaggy heads and buzz cuts.
So I spritz the curls and braid the hair, while the girls whine about the process. 
I teach the shaggy boy the value of tamed locks and the let the buzzed boy be. 
This nitty-gritty reality of parenthood. #thursday #frenchbraid #parenting
Less than a month into the new year and there are Less than a month into the new year and there are new sales, new discounts, new opportunities. The local box stores drop the prices on seasonal items to clear the shelves for the next wave of holidays and consumer fervor. Valentines, St. Patricks Day, then Easter, the sales will rise and fall. It’s never really the last chance.
Until it is.

I work part time, I do freelance writing, I am a f I work part time, I do freelance writing, I am a full time parent. Neither of those first two jobs are particularly high in income, but they allow me to bring my toddler work, and pick up kids from school and take them to basketball and everything else. 
The decisions I make try to reflect my values, but are also a real reflection of what society values. And the society I live in is broken. From its healthcare to its economy to its education. American culture is not Utopia. The American Dream is not reality for most of us. Do you have it? #american #workingmom #freelancingfemales
